The Geneva watch factory has limited the release of 30 watches to pay the sincerest tribute to global idol Philippe Stern and celebrate his 85th birthday.
Since 1932, the Sten family has been operating Patek Philippe with extraordinary grace. For decades, Philip Stern's keen entrepreneurial vision has led the brand to the forefront of the watchmaking industry. His son, current president Thierry, followed in his father's footsteps and launched a limited edition watch at the end of the year to pay tribute to his father. This watch incorporates Patek Philippe's unparalleled spirit.
The Sanwen Clock Watch Ref. 1938P-001 adheres to the philosophy of this watchmaking factory that pursues excellence. On the black enamel dial, a miniature painting depicting the portrait of Philip Stern is particularly eye-catching. The traditional Breguet pointer hovers over this handmade scene. The small second hand at the 6 o'clock position adds to this elegant composition. All these elements are housed in an elegant case with a diameter of 41 millimeters and a thickness of 14.2 millimeters.
The low-key window at the 3 o'clock position displays detailed information about the current music selection. In other words, thanks to the brand new R AL 27 PS movement, lucky owners of this watch can use the three question clock function or set an alarm to know the current time. The automatic winding movement (with a power reserve of 43 to 48 hours) is equipped with a gold eccentric mini pendulum, engraved with Philippe Stern's signature. To appreciate this device, simply open the hinged dust cover on the sapphire crystal back cover. The inside of the lid is engraved with the words' A mon p è re, 85 ans de passion horlog è re '(dedicated to my father's 85 year passion for watchmaking). Without surprises, a birthday is not a birthday!
