Otavia TAG Heuer
The iconic Autavia returned to the TAG Heuer collection in 2017. This year, it once again became the focus, launching a three pin version with a smoked blue dial and a brand new Isograph hairspring.
The Autavia watch was first introduced in 1962 and has always been more low-key than its brother Carrera. Its name blends two worlds and two industries: automotive and aviation, and draws on the stylistic elements of both. In 2016, in order to make a strong comeback for this legendary watch, the brand from Le Loch launched a competition for watch enthusiasts to choose from 16 old models.
50000 participants voted to re release Autavia Rindt in 2017. This is a chronograph worn by Austrian racing driver Jochen Rindt (1942-1970). In October 2017, a limited edition watch was launched to celebrate the 85th birthday of Jack Heuer, the great grandson of the founder and honorary president of the brand. It was paired with a black watch with a white sub dial. At the 2019 Basel International Watch and Jewelry Fair, TAG Heuer once again launched the new Autavia.
Although the design of this new watch is similar to previous styles, it stands out in a different way. Firstly, it is not a chronograph, but a three needle wristwatch with dates. Secondly, it does not adopt the common colors of the series (black, white, and silver), but instead uses a charming and finely polished blue color with a halo effect - that is, the center color is lighter and gradually darkens towards the outside of the dial. The large Arabic numerals of the hour are painted with white Super LumiNova ®， The hour, minute, and second hand are all coated with silver night light. The date is at the 6 o'clock position.
