Glycine Watch
GLYCINE Watch is a Swiss watch brand with a long history, founded by Eug è ne Meylan in Bern, Switzerland in 1914. Meylan is a steadfast watch craftsman dedicated to producing flawless watches and deeply understanding market demand and the possibilities of technological advancements.
Brand History
Since its establishment, GLYCINE Watch has been producing watches in its own factory in Bern, Switzerland. In the early days, the brand focused on producing miniature pocket watches and precious women's watches set with gold and gemstones, and later shifted to producing men's watches, quickly gaining favor from the British and American jet fleets. In the 1930s, GLYCINE developed the EMSA automatic movement and released the first batch of mass-produced automatic watches. In 1942, GLYCINE was acquired by ASUAG, an agency established by the Swiss government during the Great Depression to protect the watchmaking industry. In the 1980s, ASUAG became part of the Swatch Group.
