Alpina, which is far away from the headquarters on the bank of Lake Lemang in Switzerland, flew to New York, opened a new boutique on the famous Fifth Avenue, and shared the boutique with the sisters brands of West Rail American Watch Group. For this Geneva based company, the latest step in CWA's strategy represents an opportunity to launch a muscle version, or more precisely, two muscle version sports watches, in the 'Sleepless City', which were successfully redesigned in 2022: Alpiner Extreme Chronograph Automatic.
For energetic souls who are always running around, short-term measurement is an essential and complex function, with Alpina's iconic triangle pattern on the dial and three sky blue counters at the bottom. These sub dials are white (midnight blue version) or black (light gray version), equipped with princess style hands and a row of Super LumiNova ® As a feature, the central hour and minute hand markings, as well as the inlaid hour markings curved by matching flanges, are also the same.
The second hand, which powers two accumulators (the minute at 3 o'clock and the hour at 6 o'clock), features the famous red triangle as a balance. The small second hand at the 9 o'clock position and the date display in the metal frame window at 4:30 position complete the time information.
These functions are timed by the automatic AL-730 movement, which beats at a standard frequency of 4 Hz and provides over two days of power reserve. The black pendulum can be seen through the transparent back of the steel case. The sturdy case is in the shape of a cushion, with a large size (41 × 42.4 millimeters, 14.30 millimeters thick), naturally integrated with the two slender buttons that control the chronograph, and corresponds to the soft angle of the overall contour, including the reinforcement on its left side. To increase wrist comfort, the Alpiner Extreme Chronograph Automatic is equipped with a steel chain bracelet and a folding clasp secured by a pair of buttons.
